ClimateResilient.Earth is a Climate Action & Sustainability Consultancy. Our name reflects our vision where the entire planet, including its ecosystems, societies, and economies, is equipped to cope with and adapt to the impacts of climate change. It encompasses the idea of fostering global resilience to climate-related challenges, minimizing risks, and maximizing opportunities for sustainable development in the face of a changing climate. We work at the intersection of public and private sector — public agencies, local governments, private companies and non-profits — to co-create and transition to a regenerative, emergent future.

The Climate Crisis, a profound manifestation of the Anthropocene epoch, is a wicked problem. This challenge, driven by our complex adaptive socio-economic system, is characterized by its multifaceted nature and evolving variables. It demands innovative, flexible solutions to cope with among other things, the exacerbating extreme weather patterns. Transitions and Shifts are imperative to evolve systems so we can operate safely within the Planetary Boundaries.

We believe that to effectively foster global resilience to climate-related challenges four key competencies are crucial:

1. Systems Innovation Approach – Adopting a systems perspective, as opposed to a sector-centric view, can broaden an organizational understanding of the complexity in the system. This enables understanding the context and transition towards a networked, multi-player strategy wherein the collective generates value within the Planetary Boundaries.

2.. Strategic Foresight Integration – Understanding the long view through definition of preferred futures and scenarios thinking, can make strategy robust, be future-resilient and de-risk the organization’s long term position in the ecosystem.

3. Participatory Experimentation – Broadening the strategy process involves building a safe space for innovation, creative thinking and action. Co-sensing, co-imagining, co-creating effective strategy fosters a benefit mindset and builds connections among ecosystem leaders.

4. Adaptive Playbook Development – Ditching static plans are essential as strategy needs to be a continuous process of decisions and actions. A robust strategy playbook enables operational agility and swapping changes in and out across key initiatives while ensuring clarity of success in the newly defined ecosystem.
